Alfred Janniot, creator of the Rockefeller Center's French building entrance relief, managed to link the mythological heritage to the new aesthetic of the changing modern world emerging in the 30s.

This monographic catalogue is now becoming, for collectors and museums, the reference book about Janniot, one of the most important sculptors of the Art Deco period.

After winning the Grand Prix de Rome, Alfred Janniot took part in the great artistic renewal developed in Exhibitions with the sculpture  Hommage à Jean Goujon for the Ruhlmann's Hôtel du Collectionneur of the 1925 exhibition, the relieves of the  'Musée des Colonies' in 1931,  the 'Palais de Tokyo' in 1937, and the front entrance sculpture of the Rockefeller Center in New York in 1934.

This Master between other masters has contributed by his talent, to extend the reputation of the French monumental sculpture all over the world.
